14.2% of Australians (over 2 million people) this year will experience an anxiety disorder.
Only 35% of them will receive appropriate professional support.

Australians experience Anxiety Disorders at more than twice the number that experience Depression however only slightly more than 1 in 3 will access help.
Anxiety Disorders can include, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Phobia, Generalised Anxiety Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
Treatment for Anxiety Disorders are available and do work. There are a range of strategies available for anxiety and you need to work with your healthcare professional to find one that works for you.
For example, your GP can assist you with a Mental Health Care Plan and the ability to see a psychologist under the medicare bulk billing system. Psychologists may work with you using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy of Interpersonal Therapy.
